Thinking about a career in healthcare?

The Adult Learning Center offers two programs designed to help you prepare for your high school equivalency and move toward a career in the growing field of healthcare.

Adult Career Pathways (ACP)

ACP is a college and career readiness program. It includes classes in Math, English, Science, and Career Development with a particular focus on healthcare trade careers. The program is for students who want to earn their high school diploma, and for students with a diploma who want to improve their academic skills before entering college. ACP begins in September and ends in December. New or continuing students are also admitted from January to May. Classes are held Tuesday through Thursday from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm.

Integrated Education & Training / Certified Nursing Assisting (IET/CNA)

IET/CNA is a 104-hour training program for students who want to prepare for their CNA certification and for their high school equivalency test at the same time. The training is also for students with a diploma who want to earn their CNA certification and improve their academic skills before entering college. IET/CNA lasts 21 weeks and begins in September and January. Classes are held Tuesday through Thursday, 9:30 am to 1:30 pm.

Both programs are:

  • Paid for with grant funding.
  • Open to students who have their high school diploma but want to strengthen their academic skills before entering college.
  • Held on the Danvers campus. There is a free shuttle bus from the Lynn campus.
  • In class Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
  • Staffed with an education and career Advisor who works individually with all students.
