Students will earn 100 clock hours of instructional class time over a 12-week period to become eligible to participate in the Massachusetts state exam. Students will study the anatomy and physiology of the hand and arm, nail composition and disorders, uses of implements and cosmetics in conjunction with manicuring techniques, nail repair, acrylics, French manicure, professional ethics, salon management and state law issues. Evening classes are held at the Essex Agricultural Institute, Cosmetology Building, Route 62, Maple Street in Danvers on both Monday and Wednesday evenings. Included in the cost of tuition: a professional technician travel case, salon tools and supplies, required textbook, workbook and state exam review book.
