The North Shore Community College Business Department offers both associate degree and certificate programs for career training, as well as a transfer preparation program.
Career Associate in Science Degrees:
Accounting (60 credits)
Students learn how to analyze, calculate, and record transactions, maintain financial records, and prepare financial reports.
Management (60 credits)
Students acquire skills that can be applied in a wide variety of businesses from manufacturing to sales for entry-level positions as a management trainee or as trainees in other administrative areas.
Marketing (60 credits)
Students acquire knowledge and skills that can be applied to such specialties as retailing, wholesaling, market research, product management, sales and sales promotion, advertising, and public relations.
Accounting (27 credits)
Students learn how to analyze, calculate, and record transactions, maintain financial records, and prepare financial reports and may continue to complete the Accounting Associate in Science Degree.
Small Business Management/Entrepreneurship (28 credits)
Students acquire the skills and knowledge to needed to start a new business venture, contribute to a growing enterprise, identify new business opportunities, and/or successfully operate a small company.
Transfer Associate of Arts Degree:
Business Administration Transfer (60 credits)
Student acquire a strong base of liberal arts courses needed to pursue a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, management, marketing, management information systems, entrepreneurial studies and other related business areas.
