Young Bae Kim, Ph.D.
Dr. Young Bae Kim is an Assistant Professor at North Shore Community College, where he coordinates and oversees the day-to-day operation of the biotechnology program, facilitates the program's Advisory Board, and prepares future biotechnology, health science and nursing professionals. He earned his Undergraduate and MS degrees at Seoul National University and his Ph.D. from the University of Tokyo. He previously worked at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital, where he researched and developed genetic selections for genes that lead to STAT3 activation and eventually tumorigenesis or developmental problems. He later worked in the biotechnology industry developing anticancer chemotherapeutics and immunodiagnostic devices. Dr. Kim has published work on anticancer chemotherapeutics, epigenetics, microbial genetics and new technology development, and serves as an associate editor in the editorial board of Journal of Medical Oncology and Therapeutics, and as an editorial board member of BAOJ Biotechnology.
