The Biotechnology Program provides students with a carefully selected sequential set of science courses that will, when successfully completed, improve their knowledge and understanding of the basic techniques most commonly used in the field of Biotechnology. In this way, North Shore Community College will prepare these students to meet industry standards for entry level employment in the Biotechnology field. The program is enhanced by combining the scientific aspects of biotechnology with a strong liberal arts foundation, thus providing transfer credits to four year institutions.

The curriculum provides students with a well-balanced college experience which includes hands-on laboratory encounters with current instrumentation, exposure to relevant research topics, seminars. The successful student acquires versatile scientific skills that will be applied in a wide variety of biotechnology companies in areas from manufacturing to research.
