The Animal Science Department at North Shore Community College is comprised of two programs - Veterinary Technology and Animal Care Specialist. The mission of the Animal Science Department is to provide qualified students with the educational opportunities necessary to pursue future careers in the field of animal care or veterinary technology. The professional faculty of this department strives to provide an education that balances theory and practice in the understanding of animal care and medicine. The learning process is facilitated through a broad range of activities both clinical and didactic. The primary goal of the Animal Science Department is to prepare students for the physical, intellectual and emotional demands of these animal related careers.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE ANIMAL SCIENCE DEPARTMENT INCLUDE:

* Education for various career options in animal medicine and care
* Pathway toward the AVMA accredited VET program at NSCC
* Opportunity to complete ACS Certificate in 1 year and continue in ASD
